Why bother

Most dogs are dark-coloured and most country roads have no pavement. A black lab on an unlit lane is genuinely invisible until a driver is close enough for it to be a problem. This is the cheapest thing you can do about that.

It's also a great deal easier to find them in a dark field when they've decided recall is optional.

Getting it right

Measure round your dog's neck, leave room for two fingers underneath, then trim. Cut it a little long the first time — you can always take more off.

Charge it fully before the first walk. A full charge covers several evenings of normal use.
